Atherton Bernard Furlong papers
According to the notes attached to the inventory, there are two, unrelated parts to this collection. The first contains biographical and career information on Furlong and his family. The second contains information on various aspects of John Bundy Brown (1805-1881), a prominent Portland merchant and banker. It is not known how the Brown materials came into the possession of the donor. This information and inventory was done by ESM 6/88.
Chapman-Doten family collection
Correspondence, photographs, Wellesley English assignments, poetry, illustrations, book reviews, newspaper clippings, papers related to the Junior League of Portland and a financial ledger, among others.
Isaac Mitchell papers
Legal papers involving Limington area people; estate papers of Joshua Small, John Wood, and others; miscellaneous militia papers consisting of memoranda, accounts, muster rolls, etc. of the 6th Division of Massachusetts militia and of the 1st Division of Maine militia; and a moral verse, illustrated by fold-out watercolor drawings.
Jonas and Seth C. Burnham papers
The collection consists of poems, essays, speeches, and themes by the two Burnhams. Most of the material was composed while the creators were students at Bowdoin College. Many pieces are heavily edited and a couple bear comments by a professor.
