Orphan clippings, n.d.
Scope and Contents
Curated collections of newspaper clippings and ephemera created by and to commemorate the work and achievements of Maine General Hospital (MGH)/Maine Medical Center (MMC) staff, nursing school members, and volunteer organizations. Scrapbooks are large to oversize, and generally housed with an index listing the included articles. In the early 2000s, MMC archives staff created indexes for and photocopied most of the scrapbooks. Upon receipt of the collection, MHS staff scanned these copies and the resulting PDFs are housed on the MHS server. Due to the fragile condition of the scrapbooks, use of PDFs is preferred; request access from the MHS librarian. Series files are arranged chronologically.
Note: Oversize scrapbooks are housed separately.
