Includes memorandum of papers delivered to the commissioners of Massachusetts and Maine by the treasurer of Massachusetts, some versions of which are in this file; records regarding debt of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for which the newly formed state of Maine was partly responsible; accounting of payments due Maine or Massachusetts from the other; lists of funds acquired prior to separation from taxes, stock sales, and societies; schedule of notes and bonds; and other separation-related financial records. Some items bear Lewis' name, possibly indicating they are copies or accounts he created.
