Includes news clippings from August 1914 regarding Germany's declarations of war against Russia and France, a letter to Frances Prescott urging her immediate return to England or America, her French visa, a safe conduct pass issued to her by the French police, and a ship newsletter providing passengers with an update on the emerging war. Tucked inside is a Bateaux Parisiens token and pamphlet from 1930 titled "Chronicle of events at the Massachusetts Bay Colony tercentenary celebration."
