Scope and Content note From the Collection:

These are primarily letters to John Fairfield from various political figures, family members and his law partner, William P. Haines, from 1821-1847. Letters in each folder are in chronological order with the letter writer’s name, date and location. Papers also include documents, accounts, and certificates. Some of the items are from after John Fairfield’s death.

Scope and Contents Unknown why these letters were separated out, but correspondents include: list of names for the Saco Post Office from Oliver Moody, n.d.; list of names requested by J.L. O'Sullivan, purpose unknown, n.d.; request for arrest warrant, notice to voters of Kennebunkport regarding Postmaster election; a page of names and amounts from some ledger; lot map in Saco showing it was sold by Thomas G. Thornton to Rufus Banks; and an agreement between John Fairfield and Joseph Linnott regarding trees on...
