Biographical note

Adrian H. Scolten (1891-1976) was a medical doctor in Portland, Maine. He published many articles on medical issues such as smoking, medical training and medical ethics. He was a long-time member of the Democratic Party and ran against Margaret Chase Smith for U.S. Senate in 1948, but lost. He was also considered for Ambassador to Holland.
