Total of 100 glass plate negatives in two photo boxes, divided into Series 100-700; contact sheets; scans on a CD; and detailed notes from the donor. Includes images of Moosehead Lake, fishing, ice fishing, shooting, Adams St. neighborhood, houses, interiors, homes, portraits, people, and animals.

Arrangement note

The series numbering system used to identify glass plate negatives in this collection was created by the donor. Glass plate negative envelopes, with original series numbering listed, are housed in boxes with titled dividers, referred to in this finding aid as folders. The groupings reflect the original series.

Provenance

Gift of David Sanderson, January 8, 2015 (acc. no. 2015.018). Sanderson purchased negatives from an unidentified antique dealer. See donor's notes from January 2015 regarding his work on the collection.

Processing note

Donor had put negatives in archival paper folders with the number and description from the contact sheets. These were all checked against the contact sheets and old paper envelopes were discarded. There are some old paper envelopes that didn't have a matching negative; these were put into an archival envelope. Each paper folder has the series, description, and collection number written on it. There is one 5x7 negative in a paper sleeve that is broken, listed on the contact sheet as 104-7. Each series number is preserved on the dividers in the boxes but not on the finding aid to avoid confusion.
