Genealogical correspondence and papers of Lora May Merrill and of her daughter, Marion Dyer Merrill, tracing lines from William Brewster (1560-1644), Stephen Hopkins (d.1644), and Thomas Rogers (d. 1621) for membership in the Mayflower Society and from Henry Clark (1717-1804), Ambrose Dyer (b. 1731), and Ebenezer French (1755-1841) for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Biographical note

Lora Mary Dyer was born about 1862, in New Sharon, Maine. She was the daughter of Thomas Franklin Dyer (1833-1922) and Frances Willard (Clark) Dyer (1833-1899). In 1888, Lora married Dr. Elmer Delmont Merrill (1865-) in Foxcroft, Maine. By 1910, Elmer and Lora had adopted their daughter Marian. Lora died in 1936 at age 74, in Dover-Foxcroft, and is buried in the Rural Grove Cemetery in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine.
