Boody family member journal recording events from 1844-1845, and a letter found tucked inside addressed to Nathan S. Boody from Elisha W. Wallace, on Union Army stationery, dated Sept. 13, 1861, from Camp Vernon, Alexandria, Va. The letter requests that Boody invest the enclosed $50.00 service earnings for Wallace.
