The content of this collection pre and postdates the period of the company’s operation (1749-1816). It should be noted, references appear throughout the collection to volumes not held at the Maine Historical Society, and in some cases not known to be in existence, most notably, volumes one and two of the bound grant series, pre-1771 (see Coll. 60, vol. 11 thru vol. 14).
