W.S. Libbey Co. records, 1890 - 1989

This series consists of manuscript and print records created by or belonging to the W.S. Libbey Co. between the 1890s and 1980s. It includes founding documents, business records, correspondence, legal documents, clippings, advertisements, and trade publications. Though it contains some crucial early documents, official records from the early to mid-20th Century are sparse, perhaps due to the numerous fires suffered by the company. The majority of the contents document the final 25 years of the company’s operation as well as the sale of the mills in 1987.
