Scope and Contents
Papers were intermixed with those of Bowdoin, Flucker, Waldo and Knox. Their exact relationship, however, is not readily apparent.
Includes copy of John East’s survey report, 1728, concerning William Pepperell lands in Falmouth purchased of Rowlan Williams; unidentified account, 1733, bearing entries pertaining to Benjamin Hallowell, Oxenbridge Thacher, Peter Paneuil, and others, for items such as tar, turpentine, soap, buttons, and combs; bond, 1738, of Clement Nichols, Charles Cunningham, and John Alford of Massachusetts in favor of Godfrey Malbone of Newport, R.I.; promissory notes in favor of Isaac Winslow; deed with plan, 1788, for lands purchased in Warren, Maine, by John Christopher Wallisher and John Hilt; petition, 1806, from the inhabitants of Union to Governor Caleb Strong requesting the appointment of a Justice of the Peace; an account listing grants in Hampshire County not comprehended in any township.
