The Merrill Marine Terminal is the largest and most well represented part of the Merrill Companies in this collection. The major subseries in this series are organized to represent the stages of planning, construction, and then daily operation of the terminal. Subseries 4.8 Operation has sub-subseries organized in a similar corporate structure as other subseries. There are additional sub-subseries in the 4.8.1 Corporate series for the many industry associations and organizations related to the Marine Terminal, its activities, and cargo. Subseries 4.10 contains information about vessels; note that the vessel photos in sub-subseries 4.10.1 can be matched to VeLUC data to find details of cargo, origin, destinations, dates, and more.
